My best friend who I met when I was 12. We’ve been through everything together.
What volunteer work or cause are you dedicated to outside of work?
I am on the board of the Maranyundo Initiative, a Boston based non-profit that supports access to excellent education for girls in Rwanda.
Experience
Lani Cooper is a seasoned healthcare professional with over three decades of experience in strategic planning, project management, and business process improvement. She currently serves as a Managing Director at Faulkner Consulting Group, where she has established and developed FCG’s business process redesign services, and has been instrumental in leading key initiatives for clients such as the Rhode Island Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) and HealthSource Rhode Island (HSRI).
For FCG, Lani has worked with multiple clients to assess current programs, operationalize new policy initiatives, and design business process improvements. She is currently supporting Rhode Island EOHHS in the transition from the Medicare-Medicaid Program (MMP) demonstration for the dual eligible population to integrated dual eligible special needs plans (D-SNPs); mapping new business processes for the launch of D-SNPs and Managed Long Term Supports and Services and defining roles and responsibilities for the managed care plans. Her recent project work also includes designing new business processes for a MassHealth ACO to support the implementation of a new primary care sub-capitation program. Lani also worked on the implementation of Rhode Island’s new tiered rate structure for Assisted Living Residence Payments and supported the operational planning f or Rhode Island’s Long-Term Services and Supports rebalancing initiatives.
Lani’s FCG experience also includes working with Rhode Island’s health insurance marketplace, HealthSource RI, where she collaborates across state agencies and partners to ensure the successful design and implementation of customer-facing business processes, systems, and work flows.
Prior to joining FCG, Lani was responsible for new program development at VNA of Care New England and managed the insurance processing operations of Children’s Hospital in Seattle. For the Boston Medical Center Health Net Plan, Lani conducted an analysis of staffing needs and associated organizational space needs based on various growth or reduction scenarios across four Massachusetts sites. Lani has held management and operational position sat several other academic medical centers including Georgetown Hospital in Washington, DC, and Children’s Hospital in Boston. She holds an MBA from the University of Washington and a BA from Hamilton College.
